about

a grab-bag, a catch-all, a hard drive cleaning up project.

this is a collection of sketches, rough mixes, rejected tracks, and bits and pieces i thought maybe someday i might use for something, but finally realized that i never would. most of these pieces are from 2019, with a smattering of others from the years that followed, and other miscellany from various random years. there are some pieces from the 00s.

i often love hearing other artists' material that was rejected or just done as a sketch, or rough demo. sometimes i prefer it over the stuff they put on albums. hopefully someone else will feel similarly. this is definitely not a representation of my best work, so i continue to feel a bit mixed about it.

i haven't done much finishing to these pieces, they're in rough shape (very rough shape in some cases!) some are too quiet, many are too noisy, all have stuff that i would fix otherwise. there's a ton of clipping in these tracks, re-recording would be warranted if i were serious about wanting to release them, but they're just sketches or rough mixes. i tried to remove clicks, but some may persist.

all of the pieces (unless i fucked up and forgot some) have some info on the song page about the date the pieces were made, original working title, where the sounds came from in some cases. this info is mostly for my own benefit. some have a bit more info about how / why they were made.
