All tracks on this volume were recorded in 2007, none have been released prior to this.

These pieces were made in the same sessions that produced my previous album Awkward Hugs. As I said in the liner notes to that album, the music was kind of a response to the break-up of the group Drone Forest, wherein we made music with the dictum "no beats, no melody". I had been listening to a ton of Basic Channel type minimal techno at the time, and a bunch of material poured out.

Mechanism 2 heavily uses samples from a piece called Mechanism that was on my 1991 album (sorta 'officially' my first album) called Not Named.

Pengtrap features the voice of Viktoria Lucas, whom I knew as Talithaa. Rest in peace, tali.

Because I am bad at keeping notes, I am not 100% sure who is singing on the track titled "Clutched Together", but I am maybe 70% sure the voice belongs to Brian Bieniowski, from a so-called "phone post" on LiveJournal from long ago. Brian gave his blessing to this use of his maybe-voice.
