about

Not correct dance music.

An hour and twenty minutes of self-indulgent bleep-bloops.

This collection of work came about after re-discovering some sound source files I sent to friend and colleague PBK probably around 2005 or so. Those files were a beginning set of sketches that resulted in my later works Fine Failures, and the Electret Quintet series. I'm not sure if PBK has ever messed around with these specific files, but he may have. Tracks # 3, 5, 6, 14, 16, and 21 are derived from those sound sources. Track 23 was built around one of those files, but somewhere along the way, the source sound was removed, leaving all the stuff that had been built around it. All of this work owes some credit for inspiration to two Japanese artists doing minimal dance music, DJ Nobu and Taisouegao (the second of these two is an artist I've admired for some years). I'm not sure I could specifically say how they inspired the work, and nothing here really sounds like anything they have done, but it is what it is.

The music was composed from December 2019 to March 2020.
The cover art is a photo of an untitled, undated sculpture by C. Hodges
Tomorrow based on a work of the same name by Crompton and Ogilvie
