about

This album was somewhat inspired by the Brian Eno album Neroli, or at least by my use of the album. At times I have been emotionally hit hard with certain things, such as grief over the loss of a loved one, and during these times I am unable to listen to music. At the same time, sometimes the silence is unbearable. The album Neroli has been a good go-to during these times, as it is able to provide some musical tones without being too intrusive. I wanted to make some kind of non-intrusive music that was similar to that, something that doesn't fuck with you too much emotionally, or require a lot of attention.

This longform piece uses a set of thirteen oscillators tuned to my own microtonal scale. It doesn't exactly repeat, but it's not exactly random either.

Unfortunately the recording was plagued by some quality issues that I was unable to correct to my satisfaction. I did put in an effort, but have concluded that it will not likely ever meet my approval. Rather than completely delete the project and move on, I've gotten it to a level that's not quite what I feel comfortable releasing publically, but is not so terrible that a forgiving listener can't see what i had in mind, and maybe find something worthy in it.
So I present this as a curiousity and failed experiment to those of you who are supportive enough of my endeavors to subscribe. Perhaps your ears will be more forgiving than mine.
I recommend it played at low volume out loud into a space, rather than blasting in earbuds, but of course, it's yours do use how you prefer.
