about

1999's a good year... Yes, let's hear it now for good old ninety nine... a simpler time, the biggest worry of the time was the so-called "millennium bug". I worked with a guy who was absolutely, 100 percent convinced that the world was going to end on January 1, 2000. The more I think about it, I suspect he may have been right.
For my part, I became Crook'd Finger, a half-assed anonymous dance music project. Armed with a drum machine and some unlikely samples, I made these few fake-funky recordings, which have stewed in obscurity ever since.

This was the first release from Crook'd Finger, originally recorded in January - August 1999 at Studio Vuzh, which at the time was located at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in lovely Estes Park, CO. It was released in miniscule quantities on cassette and CDr in 2000 as a split with FZZY PMPR's "fdgy btns".

"X-Ray Eyes" is a not very faithful cover version. "Yoras" could conceivably be called "THRTNTH", because it was the final part of a collaborative effort with Anthony Washburn called Opposing Theories. "ycd" is a different version of a song sharing that name that appeared on the C. Reider album "Abandon"
